Instructors

Louise Sanseau

Louise SanseauI moved out to Jackson on January 5th, 2007.  If you remember this date, you may remember it was the start of our annual two-week cold snap.  But this cold snap was particularly harsh.  With little snow on the ground for insulation and nothing but crisp, blue bird mornings, I spent my first month in Jackson battling negative 40 to negative 20 degrees.  All I could ask was: “Where is there a hot yoga studio?”

Three years later, I offer you the answer: Inversion Yoga.

My goal is simple: I want to provide the valley with a space to: join, practice yoga, access information on nutrition and general wellness, philosophize, support each other, sweat, and awaken and enliven our bodies.  At Inversion we offer many styles of yoga and we will continue to develop our classes so that everyone: the advanced yogi, ski bum, group of overactive elderly who don’t want to ‘slow down,’ businesswo/men, pre or postnatal, you or me, will continue to grow in our self practice.

This space is less about my teaching and experience and more about everyone else.  I have gathered a diverse, wise, well-versed group of fun instructors who seek to join their many backgrounds under one roof.  We all hope that you will explore each class with an open mind and we promise that you will find the right class and teacher to begin or to strengthen your practice.  We teach through practice, workshops, discussion groups, and trainings.  Yoga is no longer an ancient practice with an old man on a mountain twisted into a pretzel.  Yoga is a lifestyle, a state of existence that crosses into how we ski, work, clean, relate to everyone and everything around us.

Louise took her first yoga class in college and was instantly hooked. She received her first 200- hour yoga training in 2006 through CorePower Yoga and has since studied under Tim Miller, Bhavani Maki, Nicki Doane and Eddie Modestini, D'ana Baptiste, Baron Baptiste, and many lesser-known teachers who have greatly helped script her course. She completed a 100-hour training under Tim Miller in 2011 in the Primary Series and looks forward to continuing her education at the Ashtanga Yoga Confluence in March 2012 in San Diego. Louise opened Inversion Yoga in Jackson, WY in March 2010 and in Driggs, ID in February 2012. Yoga is the uniting force in Louise’s world. The practice has taught her to pause, see circumstances more clearly, delay reacting instantaneously, and take initiative of how she chooses to live each moment of every day. Louise loves to share the joy and ease that yoga has given her with anyone who seeks to increase their overall state of happiness through the study and practice of yoga. Namaste!
