DYNAMIC BALLS FOR SELF CARE with Joelle Marie Cogliati, LMT

Balls are the universal symbol for the element of play; people of all ages and cultural backgrounds associate balls with fun and recreation. In the therapy setting, they automatically lower apprehension associated with pain and discomfort, enhance techniques that you already know, and empower both you and your client to take care of yourselves anytime and anywhere. In this workshop you will learn: affordable ways to give yourself a full body massage, a new skill to sell to clients, and dynamic tools that you can find locally and on the web.

Learn about unlimited possibilities that exist by using dynamic balls for self-massage, enhancing neuro-sensory stimulation, lengthening tissues, increased circulation, increased flexibility, and spontaneous adjustments!

Balls will be provided for use in class, and available for purchase. You will be given written reference materials.  Bring a yoga mat if you do not want to be directly on the floor, and snug clothing that will not get caught around the balls. You may want full-length items in order not to roll directly on skin. Your Class will be limited to 15 participants; reserve your space early.

Joelle will also incorporate the topic of hydration and fluid requirements during and after exercise.  She will offer information on various liquid drinks and essential oils.  We will learn the importance of keeping our bodies hydrated, especially after a hot yoga class!

Joelle Marie Cogliati - has 15 years experience and over 2,000 hours of massage and bodywork training. She has worked with dynamic balls in a variety of therapeutic settings including hospitals, fitness centers, spas, corporations, and in private practice. As a student, she attended Benny Vaughn Neurokinetic Workshops, was hired to assist for subsequent workshops, and traveled to his Fort Worth Texas office for private study. She is a graduate of Bonnie Prudden's Myotherapy Institute and The Body Therapy Institute. She was a Sports Massage Instructor at two accredited massage schools in North Carolina, and for 10 years held an ACE Personal Training Certification. She is currently a Licensed Massage Therapist and has been Nationally Certified since 1996. In present, she has a full time practice in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

What is Yoga? Begin to unwind your mind during this moving meditation with Dr. Peter Blumenauer. This yoga practice uses breath and movement to turn your awareness inward and prepare the body for meditation and samadhi, union with the Divine.

As a senior yoga instructor, Peter has almost thirty years of insight on Yoga to pass onto you. Allow Peter to turn your drishti, gaze or insight, inward and begin to explore the world from the inside out.

Dr. Peter Blumenauer- In 1982, Peter was led to yoga and bodywork following a debilitating bike accident. Taking the advice of his chiropractor to stretch, he wandered into a college dance class where the instructor held a passion for yoga.  In 1994, with a certification in massage and Shiatsu, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to further his studies of the body. Peter graduated as a Chiropractic Physician in 1998 and as an Advanced Certified Yoga Instructor in 2001. He's been an expert source on detoxification and yoga for Yoga Journal Magazine.
